Kendall and Ethan’s wedding at The Tate House brought all of those elements together in a celebration that felt elegant, romantic, and deeply personal.
For their wedding, we approached the day through a blend of luxury wedding photography, documentary storytelling, digital cinematography, and nostalgic Super 8 film. The result is a gallery and wedding highlight film that feel polished without losing the emotion and spontaneity of actually being there.

The Tate House is an incredible setting for couples looking for a luxury wedding venue in North Georgia with historic Southern character. Its stately architecture, grand columns, dramatic interiors, chandeliers, gardens, and light-filled event spaces gave us an enormous variety of backdrops throughout Kendall and Ethan’s wedding day.
Their aesthetic complemented the property beautifully. Kendall wore an elegant off-the-shoulder ball gown with intricate beading, paired with a long veil and soft, romantic styling. Ethan chose a classic black tuxedo, while the wedding party incorporated muted greens alongside soft white, blush and burgundy florals.
The overall effect felt quintessentially Southern while still being editorial and contemporary.
Luxury North Georgia Wedding Photography With a Documentary Approach
For us, luxury wedding photography isn't simply about creating perfectly posed portraits. It is about giving a wedding the visual treatment it deserves while preserving all of the moments that made the day feel real.
Kendall and Ethan's gallery moves between both.
There are grand, architectural photographs that showcase the scale and beauty of The Tate House, including Kendall beneath its towering columns and the wedding party framed against the estate. But some of our favorite photographs are much quieter: Kendall getting ready in front of the antique mirror, Ethan waiting for her during the ceremony, the movement of her veil, a hand resting gently against her gown, and the two of them disappearing into their own world for a moment.
That balance between editorial wedding photography and documentary wedding photography allows a gallery to feel elevated without becoming overly staged.

One of the pleasures of photographing a wedding at The Tate House is the sheer amount of visual texture available throughout the property.
The historic interiors gave Kendall's getting-ready photographs a warm, almost cinematic quality. Chandeliers, dark wood, antique-inspired furnishings and the dramatic staircase created a beautiful contrast against the softness of her wedding gown.
Outside, the estate's architecture offered an entirely different visual language: pale stone, monumental columns, manicured greenery and sweeping trees.
Later, the celebration moved into bright, floral-filled spaces with chandeliers and glass surrounding the couple. Their abundant white and blush florals transformed the ceremony into a romantic garden-inspired setting, while the reception offered opportunities for photographs that felt more playful and editorial.
Rather than making every portion of a wedding look identical, we allow the environment and light to influence how we photograph it. That creates a final gallery with dimension—soft and airy when the moment calls for it, rich and cinematic when the setting allows, and occasionally imperfect and experimental in all the right ways.
Super 8 Wedding Videography: A Modern Wedding Captured Like a Memory
Alongside their digital wedding photography and videography, Kendall and Ethan incorporated Super 8 film into their wedding highlight reel. Super 8 has become one of our favorite ways to document weddings because it offers something digital cameras simply can't perfectly reproduce. The grain, movement, color shifts and imperfections inherent to analog film immediately give footage the feeling of a home movie pulled from another era. Rather than documenting every second with perfect clarity, Super 8 captures fragments: movement, expressions, sunlight, a dress passing through the frame, friends laughing, a kiss that lasts only a few seconds.
And that is precisely what makes it so emotional.
A wedding eventually becomes a collection of memories. Super 8 already looks like memory.

Combining Super 8 Film With a Digital Wedding Highlight Reel
Couples don't necessarily have to choose between modern wedding cinematography and analog film.
For Kendall and Ethan, Super 8 footage was incorporated into their wedding highlight film alongside digital video, allowing us to use each medium for what it does best.
Digital cinematography gives us beautiful clarity, intentional composition and the ability to preserve important moments throughout the day. Super 8 introduces texture, unpredictability and nostalgia.
Cutting between the two creates a wedding film that feels less like traditional event coverage and more like a personal film about the couple.
This hybrid approach is especially beautiful for couples drawn to vintage imagery but who still want the polish and storytelling possibilities of a contemporary wedding film.
A Romantic North Georgia Wedding Ceremony
Kendall and Ethan exchanged vows surrounded by an extraordinary abundance of florals, with white and blush flowers framing the ceremony and lining the aisle.
Floor-to-ceiling windows brought the surrounding greenery into the space, while clear chairs and the neutral interior kept the focus on the flowers and the couple themselves.
From a photography perspective, the ceremony offered both the wide compositions that establish the beauty of the room and the smaller emotional moments that ultimately tell the story: Ethan watching Kendall approach, the couple standing together beneath the floral installation, and their first kiss as newlyweds.

There was classic Southern architecture and an incredible floral ceremony, but there were also intimate documentary moments, editorial portraits, experimental images and the unmistakable texture of analog film.
