In May, we had the honor of photographing two surprise proposals at one of Atlanta’s most romantic locations—the Atlanta Botanical Garden. These shoots weren’t just visually stunning—they were deeply personal, emotional, and full of love. Michelle & Bennett: A Golden Hour Proposal Among the Roses

Bennett wanted his proposal to be extra magical. He asked for help planning not just the photography, but the timing, lighting, and location within the garden. We scheduled their session for golden hour—right as the sun began to dip behind the lush greenery.

He proposed in the Orchid Room, with petals in full bloom all around. Michelle gasped and immediately burst into happy tears. These are the kinds of moments you can’t fake—and as photographers, it’s our job to make sure they’re preserved beautifully, authentically, and artistically.

Kayla & Colin: A Sweet Spring Surprise Under the Canopy Walk

When Colin reached out to plan a surprise proposal at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, he had a clear vision: something meaningful, natural, and private—without being overly flashy. We helped him bring that vision to life, assisting with every detail—from scouting a secluded area of the garden to sourcing a local florist for the bouquet and adding romantic touches like candles, which we brought and set up ourselves to make sure everything was perfect when the moment arrived.

Colin and Kayla had so much trust in the process that they booked us before they were even officially engaged, securing their date on our calendar because they knew they wanted us to document every chapter of their love story.

The proposal took place in a quiet, tucked-away corner in the middle of the greenhouse section, next to a fountain and surrounded by soft, golden light. Kayla’s reaction? Absolutely priceless: the kind of laughter that only comes when your heart knows it's found its home.

After the proposal, we wandered through the gardens together, capturing dreamy, just-engaged portraits among the spring blooms. It felt like walking through a storybook—one that we were so honored to help write.
