For Nelle and Dan’s Flowery Branch engagement session, we spent a summer evening exploring Williams Mill Greenspace—and brought along a seriously photogenic red vintage car for the adventure.
The result was equal parts romantic, nostalgic, playful, and cinematic: rocky creek beds, Georgia greenery, golden-hour light, a cherry-print skirt, and one very red car.

The natural landscape gave us plenty of variety without needing to travel between multiple locations. We started among the rocks and water, where the neutral landscape created a quiet, almost film-like backdrop for Nelle and Dan. These softer images—especially in black and white—feel intimate and documentary-inspired, allowing their connection to take center stage.
Then we completely changed the energy.
Vintage Car Engagement Photos with a Bright Red Statement
One of our favorite ways to make an engagement session feel personal is to incorporate something unexpected, and Nelle and Dan's red vintage car instantly transformed the second half of their gallery.
Against all of the deep Georgia greens, the bright red exterior absolutely popped.
We photographed Nelle and Dan leaning against the car, sitting together inside it, cuddling through the open window, and simply enjoying the evening together. Nelle's cherry-print skirt paired with the red car particularly well, giving the photographs a subtle retro-Americana quality without making the session feel overly themed.
Some of these images were photographed and edited with an intentionally nostalgic aesthetic, complete with grain, flash, rich color and date-stamp details. They almost feel like photographs discovered in an old box of summer memories—which is exactly why we love mixing editorial photography with images that feel imperfect, spontaneous, and lived-in.

As the sun began dropping behind the trees, the entire session shifted again. Warm golden light poured through the leaves, creating glowing edges around Nelle and Dan and some incredible natural lens flare.
Instead of avoiding the flare, we leaned into it.
The rainbow arcs, hazy highlights and bursts of sunlight give these photographs a dreamy, slightly surreal quality that feels completely different from the punchier flash photographs with the car. Together, the two styles created a gallery with a lot of visual range while still feeling cohesive.
